Monash University Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance are passionate supporters of Australian Music, Gender Diversity, and Jazz and Improvisation. We are proud to sponsor the MWIJF, and thrilled to have our students perform, listen and learn through the fantastic artists and events featured within the festival. This concert will feature student ensembles performing music led by the acclaimed Coco’s Lunch vocal ensemble, featuring singer/songwriter/percussionists Jacqueline Gawler, Lisa Young, Gabrielle MacGregor and Emma Gilmartin.

Coco’s Lunch are thrilled to be conducting another vocal workshop at the gorgeous historic Beleura House & Garden in Mornington for Peninsula singers! This workshop is all about getting energised, harmonised, improvised, and connected with a group of like-minded singers. The 'Spring Sing' vocal workshop includes beautiful songs, soulful harmonies and electrifying South Indian vocals. This workshop is suitable for singer of all levels and abilities. Choir directors, choral members and vocal teachers will find this workshop provides new inspirations. Coco’s Lunch are warm, inclusive, energetic workshop leaders who are passionate about empowering participants and inspiring them to the next level. As well as creating uplifting group harmonies, participants will have the opportunity to take breaks throughout the workshop to sit back, relax and enjoy performance moments by Coco’s Lunch. A sumptuous catered afternoon tea (inc GF options) and mingle with the artists will follow the workshop (included in price).

Beleura is a state-listed 19th Century heritage house set amidst five hectares of gardens and includes a music recital centre. In its 2013 debut, White Night Melbourne attracted more than 300,000 people. Commencing at 7pm on Saturday 22 February 2014, Melbourne's city streets, laneways, landmarks and cultural institutions will once again be transformed into a cultural playground from dusk-till-dawn - a celebration of music, food, film, art and light for one night only! Over 12 hours, in venues and major cultural institutions right across the city centre, visitors can participate in an urban adventure of exhibitions, street performances, fashion, lighting installations, film screenings, multimedia projections, concerts, dance and interactive events. Inspired by Paris' Nuit Blanche, the international network of White Night programs has grown to over 20 cities globally and Melbourne's own unique interpretation of this worldwide phenomenon will capture your imagination.
